God is Working Like Never Before
WHY I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A PART OF CITY LIFE…
MARK BROADBENT

City Life has been alive and kicking now for 4 years. In that time we have seen God work in amazing ways. But just last weekend it hit me that I have never seen God work as much as he is now. Here is some of what we are seeing happen…
> 6 people have responded to the gospel in the last 10 days.
> 20 people have responded to the gospel in the last 6 months.
> Another 10 homeless people have responded to the gospel.
> Over 150 people are in lounge groups
> People are praying like never before
> Time and time again, we meet people who have finally come to feel the weight of God’s grace in their lives
> People are sharing their faith like never before
> So many people are giving generously (both to City Life and other causes)
> More and more people are stepping up to leadership
> 2 people about to be baptised @ Kelvin Grove this Sunday night
God is very good to us ![]()
Update on Homeless Program
YOU NEED TO READ THIS!!!
Hi all,
Firstly, I want to start by thanking everyone for their prayer, encouragement and support. We serve a gracious and mighty God and we have really experienced His power in our ministry this week. Last Thursday night everyone who attended was used by God in a meaningful way to serve the homeless, and we were able to make major inroads in meeting their spiritual and practical needs. Once again we had two groups go out, one to the valley and one two West End and the city. We had a huge amount of food- warm meals, salad rolls, muesli bars, drinks, and even pastries that were provided my our generous volunteers. We also had blankets, quilts, clothing and shoes. We were able to give out all our food and blankets and almost all of our clothes, along with more Manna jumpers as we continued to be given opportunties to share our faith and have some great discussions about God and our faith. The things we gave out were received so graciously and enthusiastically!
Although so many exciting things happened on the night, I would just like to share a couple of anecdotes that I think were pretty amazing. In the valley, our volunteers have been meeting up with some homeless people every time we go out. They have been able to see the knowledge and faith of some of the regulars grow and develop, and one particular lady, a real mother hen who looks after a lot of other homeless in the valley, committed to coming to church recieved a bible and was able to share in a great discussion about God. Another old man, who was asleep in the gutter (and told the volunteers to get lost in no uncertain terms when they first arrived!) saw that they had food and blankets and was so overwhelmed with happiness that people would take the time to talk to him, feed him and give him blankets that he started crying. He said he needed a friend because nobody had spoken to him in over 24 hours! All eight volunteers sat with him, talked with him, prayed with him and even sang with him! As they left he said ” I was sleeping and Jesus came and woke me up!” and told them that they were blessed. They were also able to have coversations with God with several other people- one man was very upset as he had shot and killed a 14-year-old boy in the war, and the volunteers were able to share with him God’s message of grace and forgiveness, which was of great comfort to him.
In the city we met up with some of the regulars who have been spreading the word out there for us to other homeless people. They walked with us through the entire city and even continued to hand out food after we left! They have continued to come to church regularly with us and said that they love the services. Everyone is friendly, the preaching is great, the music is great and it is, most importantly “unlike any other church that they have experinced before.”
All the homeless were so happy that someone took time out to listen to them and share in their stories. They appreciated all the food and blankets etc. but above all, they said that they felt God’s love. Just awesome
Most of the volunteers came back with nothing left and literally were giving away the clothes off their own back! One volunteer was overwhelmed as she said that she was praying the whole time that she was out and God had answered every one of her prayers there and then!
Anyway, hope you are all having a good week, please continue to pray and if you have any more blankets of clothers they would be appreciated. We don’t actually need children’s clothes at this point and please make sure the clothes are not too old or flimsy. Thanks for all your support and God bless.

God is worth Celebrating
Hi ALL,
I am stoked to be in a church where people are so genuine and caring, as they walk across my room. I am especially celebrating the new relationships I am making in Church.
I am celebrating God’s blessing and favour at work, as my application to the WA Government to commence a Christian School of Distance Education in Western Australia, was successful. (Already have one in Qld & in NSW).
I am over the moon about the fact that I feel that I am growing as a Christian at present.
I am wrapped that I have some non-Christian friends who trust me.
I constantly celebrate my wife and family as one of God’s greatest gifts to me.
I celebrate my relationship with Jesus. This is my adventure in a cleansing stream of purpose, love and liberty.
Plenty more … like I had a great surf with CityLife crew last Saturday etc, but that will do for the moment. (There are also major challenges I am facing, but this one’s about “CELEBRATORIES”!
Yours in Conviviality,
Terry Harding
